October is such an exciting time in New York City. Although there are so many awesome autumn events, for many of us New Yorkers there’s nothing better than getting above it all and seeing the gorgeous fall foliage. Check out these top spots in New York City to get your leaf peeping on.

downloadManhattan by Sail: It’s easy to forget Manhattan is an island. Check out Manhattan by Sail for a breezy cruise. Board the historic 820foot Shearwater schooner and float around Manhattan’s harbor taking in views of the buildings and, of course, the foliage. North Cove Marina, near Battery Park City, Hudson River.

Aerial View of Governors Island

Governors Island: I can’t say enough times how amazing Governors Island is. With a long promenade to take an afternoon stroll amongst the leaves and it being so close to Manhattan it really is a great get-away to frolic and see some foliage.

Fort Tyron Park: This gorgeous park overlooks the Hudson River and is one of the highest natural points in Manhattan. Check out beautiful views of the Hudson, The George Washington Bridge and New Jersey Palisades. Also you can go check out the Cloisters Museum and Gardens, which will transport you to another time.

Alley Pond Park: Check out the Tulip Tree Trail for a great place to see some great leaves. It’s in Queens and it’s great. Pack a picnic and grab a bestie. This is a perfect afternoon get-a-way to enjoy the fall foliage.
